This is very embarrassing that nobody of note in nigeria
a has spoken up on 2026 as the International year the woman farmer. Not even the minister of Agriculture.
But let me also add that jimoh Ibrahim our representative in the United Nations as an undergraduate from a humble background very very very humble background he perhaps would not have finished his programme at university ife now obafemi awolowo university but for a woman food retailer giving him food on credit. She must have been a woman or someone born by a woman.
So after implementing the ideas on local government laws he picked up from professor ijalaiye he went on to become very wealthy. And subsequently returned to ife and gave his benefactor one miliion naira.
That one milion naira cannot compare with the credit facilities he got from the same woman.its just a token of appreciation.
Other wise he woukd have had to give her everything he owns now to thank her for the credit facilities. She owns his wealth.
For this woman alone jimoh Ibrahim should speak out for women at the United Nations.
Only 4 per cent of the political offices in nigeria are held by women.! Where does jimoh Ibrahim stand?
According to professor tomi adekanye Africa s first woman Professor of Agriculture economics more than any part of the world African women are farmers.
Now how many of the government imported tractors have been allocated to women.? We have the Nigerian women in mechanised Agriculture. We no longer hear of the society of women farmers of nigeria. Are they tired of speaking up?
And the women rights advancements protection WRAPA alternative. Have they run out of steam?
The national council of women society's is no move. Am I right?
Same with the police officer s wives association. Where are they? And the the Nigerian armed forces wives association. They have all disappeared.so where is the voice of Nigerian woman.?
Same with the acada women. Universities women association. They are no longer as active or visible like they used to be.
Even women Clubs like Zonta International that had chief Mrs Folake Folake SAN as the world's most powerful woman on being the first non Caucasian president of zonta international a professional and business women's organisation founded November 8 1919
The United Nations declared 2026 the International Year of the Woman Farmer (IYWF 2026). The Year spotlights the essential roles women play across agrifood systems, from production to trade, while often going unrecognized.
