One thought the experience of Oyo State legislators and those of Jos would have shown that ridiculous rape on democracy does not pay. Nor does it benefit any one. Nine suspending fifteen! Did they form a quorum? Substituting the mace of a local government for that of the State Assembly! Is there anything considered sacred? Why is election or politics always a “do or die” engagement? The commitment to serve? It is a sad charade, dampening the optimism of anyone hoping to hear a new song in 2011 without changing the choir. It seems we may be Waiting for Godot! The leopard, they say ….
