I assume this is Mallam Salisu Abdullahi of NJ/Kano! Barka D'Azumi. As we dash toward the finishing lines of the Azumi season, I am filled with nostalgia for the youthful yester-years, when we salivate toward Sallah and the surplus Tuwo Chinkafa/Mia goat- or Fish-soup at my Uncle's home. Those were the GOOD OLD DAYS!
And those memories take me to your note below about your children travelling to Nigeria, and whether there is any adult going to Nigeria that can oversea them. Believe me, most of us will be SCARED to even announce that their children are travelling these days, not to talk of leaving them in the hands of "strangers"! In these days of kidnapping, child-trafficking and abuses everybody is super-cautious and even ducking from immediate family members, and even themselves. It is AMAZING that you still share the Post-Independence Nigerian Spirit of yester-years, when it took a village to raise a child; it appears you don't really mind who accompanies your children to Nigeria, provided he/she is a Nigeria; you are a REAL NIGERIAN and really Blessed. If we all believe in Nigeria as you have demonstrated on this issue, that nation would have been FIXED UP and integrated into a modern society by now, instead of all the looting and foreign accounts/assets the leaders seem to focus on so far. Keep up the Nigerian Spirit and do us PROUD! Take care. Joe Igietseme (wondering why there is still no Nigerian City/town with regular electricity and public pipe-borne water!)

Subject: NIDOA | Anybody Travelling from NYC JFK to Abuja on Tuesday September 21, 2010 via Delta Airline?
My children ages 13, 10 and 3 are scheduled to return back to Nigeria
before school starts. Even though I paid full\adult price for my 13
years old daughter, now the airline is saying that she must be 16 years
old before they could travel un-acompanied. If you are or know somebody
who is travelling with Delta from New York JFK to Abuja on Tuesday
September 21, 2010, kindly let me know asap. My wife will bring the
children to the airport at JFK and I will be at Abuja airport to
collect them.
Thanks.
Salisu
