Re: USA Africa Dialogue Series - PRESIDENT JONATHAN GOODLUCK PROPOSESA BILL FOR SEVEN YEAR SINGLE TERM.

Dear All,
It is now obvious that the newly installed president lacks the basis
for restoration and transformation that he previously claimed to be
his target. What on earth is the relationship between tenure
elongation and service delivery at this stage? Political violence can
never be solved when political leaders are sure of secured longer
period of stay in power. I guess the president is afraid of seeking
mandate from the electorates soonest. If that is the case, I would
rather advise the president and his snail oriented emerging cabinet to
face the real challenges of the nation. His former boss declared state
of emergence on the power sector only to sideline the subsector. Let
the president work towards employment generation, functional education
and poverty eradication by embarking on serious drive for greater
power generation. If we can generate even 15000 megawatts of
electricity, the citizens of the country can easily fix themselves in
laudable ventures. I once told a friend that governance in Anambra
State is unique and easier than other states of the federation but he
would not understand. Anambra state is made up of families that make
up what I can refer to as mini governments. The state government does
not need to build houses for anybody anywhere to ensure urban
development. If the state can be lucky enough to see a governor who is
committed to developing layouts by way of building roads and extending
electicity to the various layouts the various communities, shanties,
suburbs and cities would change within a space of one year. In the
state the government does not provide water but the people have got a
lot to drink and use for other domestic functions. This is exactly
what am talking about the national government. Jonathan should just
face one area (particularly) power generation and all other areas
would be boosted.
We have suffered enough in this country and that is why much is
expected from this present administration especially where everybody
seems to believe that it is a new dawn and that God is ready to redeem
the image of the nation.
