I really do agree with Nikki, I think many people believe that being a Wiccan means going to rituals, having rituals and doing practical magick. I did that myself when I first started out. Later I realized that Wicca was much more than that. It reminds me of the "Karate Kid" movie when he was eager to learn how to do his kick-butts and wanted his Sensei to teach him all the moves of fighting. He was surprised and dishearten when the sensei/teacher started teaching him things that, to him, had nothing to do with fighting. But what sensei was doing was teaching him the spiritual practice first (how to feel his art), and then later he learned the physical practical when the sensei thought he was ready. If I could do it all over again I would learn the spiritual first. The spiritual is doing things like meditation and learning to feel your power, develop your power, feeling the elements, the energies, and mentally speaking with spirit. It is casting a spell without speaking out loud much like the Priestess Card of your tarot. It is cleaning your house and asking spirit to protect it, and listening for spirit to answer. It is like taking a walk in the park and listening for the air and the trees and learning to hear them, in a deep abiding way when others do not. It is waiting for the moon to become full and finding a place to watch it, and feeling one with the Universe. You could have wonderful opportunity to learn how to incorporate Wicca into your everyday life by doing mundane things like herbal baths with the water element and lighting a candle with the fire element, and feeling the power of the two elements together. Wicca is a spiritual and practical religion. While you are in school you may want to learn the spiritual aspect for yourself first. The rest will come easy down the road of life.

While I have time off this summer, I am going to study as much as I can. Other than that, I just read as much as I can between homework and studying for test.

I'm a student studying Respiratory Therapy and I will have my degree Summer of next year. My field is very demanding and requires a lot of studying and commitment. As a wiccan I've not had the first opportunity to really practice the craft. I've literally had to put it totally on the backburner. This is so frustrating because I need to study and grow in the craft but I simply don't have the time right now. I have to stay on top of school so I can pass my boards the first time and get certified and registered. I haven't even cast the first circle yet. I've decided to practice as a solitary but what can I do to balance this out at least until I get out of school.
