Amosun Assures Of Security As Police Foil Car Robbery In Abeokuta

Ogun State government has reassured the people of the state of security of lives and property.

The state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, gave the re-assurance while addressing some citizens at the gate of the state's Civil Service Secretariat, along Sagamu/ Abeokuta Road, shortly after a failed car robbery attack on a resident.

Senator Amosun noted that cases of hoodlums and criminal activities were some of the problems the present administration inherited, promising to rid the state of the menace as soon as possible.

He said all the streets would be totally secured, adding that all areas in the state would be policed for the security and safety of the people.

He commended security operatives for rising up to the challenge by nipping the act in the bud, promising that the state government was ready to assist them to do their job.

Amosun thanked the people of the state for their support in his mission to rebuild Ogun State.

The robbers, whose number could not be ascertained, came in around 10am in Nissan Quest Car with registration number BR 944 RSH with a mission to steal a Toyota Camry Car with registration number AKM 146 AA parked around the secretariat.

The police overpowered the gang, killing one of the robbers during an exchange of gunfire.

It would be recalled that the Ibikunle Amosun-led administration recently set up the Joint Police/ Military Task Force, whose operations have drastically reduced the menace of armed robbery in the state.
