USA Africa Dialogue Series - - Watch Yeni Kuti re-interpret Fela's Water no get enemy

I took liberties with what I thought was a common lingo...I am not even sure how I will do justice to the translation. Abinibi is like what you are born with (or a natural talent) while ability is what you learned or trained for. Yeni Kuti must have received the creative genes from her father and she freely expressed it. Sorry for not including translations

What is "abinibi"?

I believe that the language of this forum is the English language. While non-English words may be used by forum contributors, it does not bear reminding that non-English words should be translated into the English language and when necessary explained, if the use of such words are to enrich conversations. It is important that all communication through this forum is effective, full and meaningful.

Yeni Kuti  has once more demonstrated that abinibi is by far greater than ability. Thanks to camera One for taking us into the heart of the creative process and into the final outcome. Thank you very much

THINKING ALOUD:
The organization of this 18th National Sports Festival will leave behind a long trail of questions about governance and priorities. The Lagos State Government majors in minors, they have perfected the art of giving to the people what can temporarily take away the pain of daily living. It goes to show that art is expensive but the effect on the people cannot be quantified. How do I read the cost-benefit score card against the many competing interests. It is very evident that Fashola knows what to do IF he has a "free hand" and a settled mind to fix Lagos in a very fundamental way. I will not blame him for going for the low hanging fruits that the people (and press) cannot ignore. Please enjoy 18 mins of this video or just fast forward to the last 6 mins.
