Thanks for sharing this. If this finding is historically accurate, and is as revealing as it appears, then it is our intellectual and moral duty as African scholars to find out who, in Africa, were the recipients of this compensation, and which families, today, are the beneficiaries of this immoral loot. This is good grist not only for students of Slavery and Abolition, but also of Ethics and Human Rights. I am interested in this.
