Subject: An alternative to an Open-ended National Dialogue

Dear All,

You have all been following the debate on the desirability for and timing of the establishment of the presidential committee on national dialogue.

In this regard, I would like to acknowledge a contribution by Chido Onumah.  In his recent article in Sarahareporters,  he makes a powerful case for a sovereign national conference. However, I think that other things must happen before such a conference (or any gathering similar to it) could be convened. This is the thrust of my argument in my latest blog. The purpose of this e-mail is to draw your attention to the blog and solicit your comments thereon. Specifically, I need your reactions to the proposal for a People-driven Constitution as a basis for the creation of a sustainable political order.
