USA Africa Dialogue Series - Re: U-Report: Kano Mosque Attack Was Handiwork Of Enemies Of Islam And Humanity

This is very serious.

As I told my facebook friend who asked me why Goodluck Jonathan doesn't fly over to Kano to offer his condolences, it must be because of Goodluck Jonathan's fear for his own personal safety. If things get further out of hand in that old city of Kano, Mr. President will probably decide to declare a state of emergency over the whole area. How His Holiness Muhammadu Sanusi II the Emir of Kano and Hon. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso the Governor of Kano will be reacting to these events and a state of emergency declaration looming over their heads will become a little clearer in the following days, weeks and months leading up to Election Day !

Yes, you may rightly believe that  at the moment, there are some areas that he probably dare not show up in his campaign train at and  that Kano is obviously one such dangerous area. The alleged participation of the Nigerian military on the latest terrorist atrocity on unarmed Muslims peacefully praying in Kano's Central Mosque does not endear the commander- in- Chief to the faithful...

Who knows, considering the latest developments in the Hon Speaker Aminu Tambuwal affair, Mr. President may already be feeling some trepidation about entering Sokoto, the great Usman Dan Fodio's citadel where Hon. Aminu Tambuwal is sure to win the gubernatorial race...

You are entitled to believe what you like, but for me, these words of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, are true and confirm that what his eyes saw were some of the enemies of Islam, not in disguise but in full military attire: "When they turned to us, they were exposed. We saw them in their full military uniform and armed. "

There's another possible dimension to the escalation in this crisis:

In Iraq and Syria the Shia-Sunni schism which goes back to early Islam, is still raging, and consistent with the strategy of divide and rule the conflict has now been imported into Nigeria. This is in tune with the other divide and rule allegation, that the Ahmadiyya were created to split the Indian Muslims who were hitherto quite united: (bear in mind that Mohammed Ali Jinnah who eventually became the first Governor- General of Pakistan was Shia).

The beginnings of the Shia- Sunni conflict in Nigeria is calculated to wreak some more havoc on the ummah, as if they had never read the Qur'an which exhorts them to hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided

There's some hope yet, as my good Lebanese friend corrected me last week, Lebanon's Hezbollah does not consist in only Shia militia....
