Also reported by the African Sun Times, the President of the World Bank, Jim Yong Kim, walked out on African Finance Ministers when this obviously troubling development, in different varieties, was brought up.

The highly embarrassing episode, or lack of mutuality, apparently escaped the ears of the media. But the issue lurks. Even some eternal optimists have whispered how this could possibly be the poverty-cutting measures. Puzzling as it may be, some mustered the courage to ask more important constituents whether this could happen.......like to European, Asian Finance Ministers. Even though the World Bank's Vice President of Africa Region, Mr. Makhtar Diop, is a former Economic and Finance Minister of Senegal, nobody asked his opinion on the dreary happenings, which may compromise his position. It is left to civil society discussions, on viable media, for the purpose of clarity. Of course, with the President of the World Bank, in person or his office, allotted equal time. Response or not, at least, nobody can claim ignorance on these public affairs. Over to you WOL, WPFW, PBS, interested FOX, etc. and where talk is not cheap and information is power.
Thank you very much on this important, scary issue. It is neither polemics nor an accusation; it is a humane inquiry.
MsJoe
