NEPAD TRADE FAIR 2015 in Abuja, Nigeria
October 23-28, 2015

Theme:
'Harnessing Potentials for Inclusive Regional Growth.'

The New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD) is a comprehensive framework for the political and socio-economic transformation of African countries and the African continent initiated by the African Union in 2001.

The initiative was set up for trade and partnership among all  African countries, the public and private sectors in Africa, governments, civil societies and between the continent and external partners.  NEPAD  seeks to eradicate poverty, accelerate the empowerment of women, place African countries on a path of sustainable growth and development, halt the marginalization of Africa,  enhance Africa's full and beneficial integration into the global  economy.

In May 2015, while inaugurating the National Organizing Community of the  2015 NEPAD Africa Trade Fair, the  then S pecial Assistant to the President on the NEPAD, Nigeria and  current Nigeria's Ambassador to Switzerland, Ambassador Fidelia Njeze, described NEPAD  as a veritable tool for the socio-economic transformation of the continent, indicating that the 2015 NEPAD Africa Trade Fair will showcase indigenous products and services  and promote Africa's local content.

The statement quoted Njeze as saying "Nigeria and other African countries have identified the urgent need to diversify our economy, develop local contents, and enhance the competitiveness of our products in the International market.
The Trade Fair with the theme "Harnessing Potentials for Inclusive Regional Growth'' would be a platform for facilitating NEPAD product certification designed to open windows of opportunities for African made products in the international export market.
It would also create an indispensible one stop market for African made goods and services and craft a standard of regulation for ensuring that only quality products are imported and exported from Africa. This platform would further be an opportunity to showcase what we have in Africa and market our investment potentials while the Business and Investment Forum will encourage African businesses to network."
It further explained it would an exhibit of Africa's huge investment potentials  to the global investing community.
The Trade Fair is expected to commence with a 5-day exhibition of African made products, followed by a 2- day Business and Investment Forum on Africa, and presentations of Africa Achievement Awards.
Other highlights of the event will include African movie premiere, African fashion parade and a Gallery of African Arts and Culture.
AU ECOSOCC is a Designated Parter of the 2015 NEPAD Trade Fair.
