(1)Tinubu's name has always been associated with infamy, illicit drugs, certificate forgery, corruption, etc.
(2)His participation in the pro-democracy struggles during the Abacha era was motivated by selfishness. He was scheming to become Senate President as a springboard to becoming President, but Abacha's coming(which he helped to facilitate anyway, on the condition that Abacha should handover to Abiola after six months)canceled all that.
(3)Tinubu as Lagos state governor against legal advice created local government areas, when the National Assembly refused to recognize the local government areas he created, he renamed them development areas. The Federal government withheld the Lagos state allocations on the basis of fears that the allocations would be used to finance the illegal creations. Please note that other States were involved. These other States reverted to status quo and their allocations were released, but Tinubu refused to revert.
Let us please endeavour to always set the records straight for posterity.
