By Chidi Anthony Opara
"Off the mic,
It's okay".
This is not poetry,
'Tis the language of compromise
From the mouths
Of compromised gods and goddesses
In the chamber
That should be hallowed
But now hollow.
"Off the mic,
It's okay".
This is not poetry,
'Tis the language
Of the unscrupulous lot
Who stole mandates to govern
In this land where laws
Are observed in breaches.
"Off the mic,
It's okay"
This not poetry
'Tis what is that should not be!
