With all due respect, you can't ask anybody or group of people to associate in WHATEVER FORM they desire (as an organization, think tank, society, fraternity etc) provide they are law abiding. In fact, as a NIDO Board member, I expect you to encourage people to associate in legitimate groups for whatever cause they like; and when it is Nigerian, you would feel really good!

Besides, what I expected you to extend to the budding Zik's Cmte is the PLEDGE that NIDO will be ready to assist us to realize the goals of the group. Anything else, is very UNWISE! Take care. JUI

Ms. Anugom,

I am very much impressed with the call for the restoration of Zik's Statue. this noble cause I believe was held by everyone. I appluade you and Dr. Aluko, Dr. JUI and many respected Nigerians who took this to heart and in making every effort in raising the money needed to accomplish this noble goal.

Having said the above, I will not hestitate to advise you against using this cause and Noble Nigerians geniune patriotic act in trying to form another Diaspora organization as mentioned below.

People coming together to contribute toward restoring a great Nigerian's statue does not warrant the formation of an organization of National composition when There is one already existing in which most of those contributed and spearheaded the contribution are part and parcel of.

We in the diaspora have to learn how to work with one another, together and for greater purpose. NIDOA is a national organization of professionals in which all Nigerians have a stake and must work toward making it what it was envisioned to be.
As much as your agenda below is noble I employ you to look at the bigger picture of how others will see it. Simply put, "another Diaspora failed organization to be formed".

NIDOA needs everyone and we in the Diaspora whether we like it or not need NIDO to work. Do you want to change Nigeria? join the nearest NIDO chapter, if there is none close by, contact the Regional Director, he/she will direct you on how to form a chapter, Better yet Visit the website at www.nidoamerica.org

Calling a meeting of those that contributed toward ZIK's head Restoration to form another non profit of Nigerians in Diaspora does not make sense. Simply put, it is folly. this is just my simple advise. Have a great day.

This is to remind you of the teleconference that we scheduled for September 4th 2010 at 9:00 a.m PST. We'll like to get an RSVP back so as to see whether this date is feasible for all or most of us. We crave your indulgence to join us at this maiden meeting.
