Re: USA Africa Dialogue Series - Goodluck Jonathan Formally Makes a Declaration of Intent For The 2011 Presidential Race

In the words of professor A. B. Assensoh, we occasionally need a "comic
relief" from our stressful vocations. As one who has mangled the English
language several times, I do sympathize with the president (a scientist
by training). Perhaps, he should communicate with us in pidgin English.
In fact, it goes without saying that President Obasanjo (alias Uncle
Sege) did a great number on us at the meet "Nigerians-in-the-Diaspora"
conference that was held in Atlanta several years ago. His pidgin
English was, in truth, smooth and as one with a "Ph.D." in Warri
(Delta state) pidgin English I gave him an A. Besides, it is said that
there is no "correction" in pidgin English (or pidgin English no get
correction-o). So, let the President deliver his Independence Day
message to the nation in "sweet" pidgin English--bo!
