USA Africa Dialogue Series - UN-STAR LIST: Roll Call at IBB's Abuja Declaration Event

Bolaji et al:

It is mind boggling that all these people (80 in all) and others
whose names are not on the list --not to mention the rent a crowd masses
still have enough confidence in IBB to lead Nigeria again--
at least enough that they would spend their precious time traveling
to Abuja to attend the Declaration Event.

It makes me wonder!

Interestingly one of my dear Egbons for whom I have
I have a high regard operates within the inner most circle of the
IBB campaign. He reassures me that everything is going
according to plans in the IBB campaign. He is not on the
Bolaji list.

He tells me this each time I raise an objection to IBB's campaign:

"My dear Aburo, all those anti-IBB sentiments
are a "Diaspora thing"--just noise nothing more;
and that within Nigeria IBB is
respected and adored not only by a broad section
of Nigerian leaders across all ethnic
and religious lines but also by ordinary Nigerian
citizens."

I just cannot believe that the only individual capable of leading Nigeria
post 2011 is IBB--What exactly in positive terms does IBB really bring to
the table--if we discount his deep campaign war chest?

My dear Egbon, if you're reading this--please note that I am still
hoping and praying that you'll be proven wrong even though we still
agree on many other issues. Family bonds are everlasting; but on this
issue, I sincerely hope that you're backing another candidate--NOT IBB.

Egbon please move over to the GEJ campaign--the only campaign that really proves
that anything can happen--that a person of minority heritage can rise by divine
guidance to lead a nation of 150 million plus people; a nation with a prior
political history dominated by the three major ethnic groups--the Yoruba, Hausa-Fulani
and the Igbo.

A Vote for GEJ--on his own right--heading his own ticket is akin to proving Obama style
--that "Yes We Can".
A Jonathan win in 2011 will put a death knell on the zoning gimmick, which I consider
extremely divisive in a multiethnic nation lile Nigeria with over 400 ethnic groups.

The only thing that should count in Nigerian elections is competence. GEJ has the potential
to be a competent President of Nigeria. He is well educated and articulate. He is also
a good listener. GEJ's campaign has only one major albatross--the PDP.

Let's make it happen for Nigeria! Vote GEJ--in the PDP primaries if you are a party delegate to the convention.
which he will win by a narrow margin and for the rest of us who are registered to vote--Vote GEJ in the 2011
Presidential Elections.

Let's make it Happen for Nigeria!

Hey--Did I just hear myself declaring for GEJ?:)

Bye,

Ola
