Fellow Nigerians
With these pictures and all of us knowing what is on the ground and what is happening in our country-Nigeria, do we have anything to celebrate?

Dear All:
Please come see with me the following pictures:
A delivery of rice imported from Brazil, organized by Mrs. Patience Jonathan's NGO and distributed at the International Conference Centre in Abuja caused a great deal of pain, injury and commotion. Many flocked to the scene upon hearing about the free rice. Pandemonium ensued, which the police tried to quell with their whips. People were left distraught and wounded. Some police are reported to have gone home with their own bags of rice, while other civilians decided to sell what they had received. The incident is indicative of the high level of poverty in Nigeria after 50 years of independence.

ALUKO COMMENTARY
Haba, this does not look good o! Policemen and FERMA officials, two fine "eles" dragging rice (did I see the picture of a bowler "Resource Control" hat on that bag of rice? - and a man seated on a bag of rice contemplating the impending near-death of his collapsed female consort (?) are the not the kind of pictures we should be getting on the 50th Independence Anniversary.
Ko dara rara! Could this not have been done in a more dignified manner ? Which kin' Patience NGO be dis?
Inquiring minds want to know......
