FYI: Read the call for papers at http://www.aegis-eu.org/pdf/ECAS4CfP.pdf, check out the relevant panels at http://www.nai.uu.se/ecas-4/panels/ECAS4_Panels_ListNumbersTitles.pdf and note, in particular, Panel 11 on Tanzania in Transition - From Nyerere to Mkapa.
NB: This time one of the keynote speakers is none other than our very own Mwanazuoni, Professor Issa Shivji, the other keynote speaker being Professor Oyeronke Oyewumi whilst the ('Lugard') Lecturer would be Professor Peter Ekeh (See http://www.nai.uu.se/ecas-4/ for their profiles)
PS. I have attended the 1st, 2nd and 3rd European Conference on African Studies (ECAS) and they really enriched my understanding of Africa and the way(s) Euro-America(ns) make sense of Africa(ns) and, in fact, the idea that culminated in starting Wanazuoni was sparked by ECAS 2 in 2007.
