EVANS WADONGO, a 24 year old Kenyan, used part of his student loan, and even skipped meals to set up the 'Use Solar, Save Lives' program through which his organization, SDFA-Kenya, designs, makes, and distributes solar lanterns to poor communities, AND helps the communities to set up small economic ventures from the money initially spent on kerosene. Evans has been selected as a CNN Top Ten Hero due to his work. Voting is now online for him to win the prestigious CNN hero of the year.
