A US Govt report has alleged that there are widespread abuses of religious freedom in Northern Nigeria due to widespread Sharia practices. In a report released yesterday, November 17, 2010, The Bureau Of Democracy, Human Rights, And Labor said while the Nigeria government generally respected religious freedom, in practice, some local political actors stoked sectarian violence with impunity including reports where Christians were forced to convert to Islam.
