USA Africa Dialogue Series - [Naijaintellects] Re: My view Re: On the Little Matter of Aregbesola's Forgery Case-STAR INFORMATION: Rauf Aregbesola is new Governor of Osun State; Oyinlola is Out, Says Appeal Court!

Kunle Adegoke,

Thanks for your below....your clarification is well appreciated.
May I use this opportunity to point out that my little poser is not original to
me...It was actually pointed out to me by one of my readers...so contrary to Mr
Bolaji Aluko's insinuation...mine was a GENUINE enquiry.

Now that the Appeal Court has reached their decision, let's see whether the
Police will continue with their investigation...after-all, forgery is still a
crime outside the electoral issues involved...Otherwise, the originators of the
forgery accusation should be prosecuted for perjury, libel, and/or obstructing
the course of justice

Forgery Case-STAR INFORMATION: Rauf Aregbesola is new Governor of Osun State;
Oyinlola is Out, Says Appeal Court!

Dear Elombah,
Thanks for the curiosity to know.
Due to the claims of Oyinlola that the police report was forged and the
subsequent prosecution in Abuja, Aregbesola did not use the police report in the
retrial of his petition before Garba tribunal. The police report was dropped by
us to show that the evidence before the court was more than enough to prove that
Aregbesola won the election in 2007. The decision of the Court of Appeal
yesterday was not based on any police report as it did not feature at all in the
entire case.
Please note further that the judgment of the Court of Appeal yesterday was based
on the oral and documentary evidence led across the ten local governments where
Oyinlola alone had more votes than the remaining twenty local governments
combined. The police report was not part of the documentary evidence.
