(Reuters) - The European Union has imposed sanctions including visa bans and asset freezes on Ivory Coast leader Laurent Gbagbo, 84 of his supporters and 11 economic entities linked to the government over Gbagbo's refusal to step down after a disputed presidential election.
Below is a list of the most prominent of Gbagbo's supporters and the economic entities facing sanctions with the reasons, as published in the EU's official journal.

Simone Gbagbo - his wife and senior figure in ruling Ivorian Popular Front (FPI) - "Obstruction of the peace and reconciliation processes; public incitement to hatred and violence"
