Nigerian Education:Na Only Fish Eye We Fit Chop Tuesday, 11 January 2011 09:05 edit2 By Burningpot, Abuja Only 20% can pass WAEC, a trend that has been on for a couple of years now. Virtually all the Eastern Universities were on strike for the half of last year, including other strikes from sister institutions in the country. The latest World University Ranking Top 100 in Africa has been released with no Nigerian University in the first 30. And then we are proposing to change from English language to English studies. And we step up the ante by closing primary and secondary Schools for a month. Teachers will not be involved in the registration, neither are primary and secondary school kids required to register.
However because of a possible outbreak in violence, 'better be uneducated than killed' is Jega's motto.
Universities in Botswana, Mozambique, Kenya, Reunion, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Senegal, Bukina Faso, Zambia and Morocco all ahead of us, this excludes the real powerhouses South Africa, Egypt and Ghana.
There were 7 South African Universities in the top ten, and three Egyptian Universities
In the list, 5 Nigerian universities appeared with the following ranking: Rank 31, University of Lagos Rank 35, University of Ife Rank 37, University of Ilorin Rank 45, University of Ibadan and Rank 87, University of Benin
Confusion break bone o.
