Ivory Coast Violence Flares in Abidjan, Leaving at Least One Person Dead

At least one person was killed after shootings in the Treichville neighborhood of Abidjan, Ivory Coast's commercial capital, according to a resident.
"The security forces are here and they have been shooting around, everybody is scared," Chantal Guehennot said by phone.
Gunfire was also reported in Koumassi, a neighborhood in the south of Abidjan, where protesters were demonstrating, said Didier Houldesso, a member of the youth wing of the opposition Parti Democratique de Cote d'Ivoire by phone today.
