Dear Colleagues/friends of SIRAS,
We wanted to send a reminder about the upcoming deadline for proposals for the SIRAS conference slated for April 7-10, 2011. We appreciate and thank those who have already responded.
The proposals are due Monday, February 28th, 2011
The proposal process is very simple. Just send us your topic and a paragraph or so of explanation. As you may recall, our roundtable is geared to impacting positively on the lives of Africans and African Americans as well as guiding in policy formations and actions. To this end, we encourage collaborative efforts among colleagues. This will no doubt enrich researches by gaining from inter/intra disciplinary depth and perspectives. As you equally noticed, we especially encourage budding and aspiring students, so, we implore colleagues to motivate and bring their young scholars/students to the Conference. This is one of the ways by which mentorship would be sustained.
We have received requests from colleagues who desire to share hotel accommodations. If you are interested in this, kindly let us know on time so that we can deal with the logistics. The conference ends with the celebration Saturday night, April 9, that will include the banquet and dance.
Please feel free to share this with others on your campus.
