Re: USA Africa Dialogue Series - Why Mugabe Will Not Run For Another Trem --- Poor Health

No, he should run from his hospital bed. If possible, let him be cloned before he falls into coma.

Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe Thursday left the country for Singapore for yet another medical check-up, further fuelling speculation about his health.

Celebrating his 87th birthday on Saturday, President Mugabe admitted that his body was "spent" but insisted he still had political ideas of a young man.

His spokesman George Charamba was quoted saying the veteran ruler had gone for an eye check-up following a cataract operation in January.

"The President left today for Singapore and he will be back on Sunday," Mr Charamba was quoted as having said.

"He is going for his final check-up. As you know, after a cataract operation, there is a period of two weeks to check-up."

President Mugabe returned home on February 20, day before he turned 87, from another check-up in Asia.

His office said in January the President underwent a minor operation to remove a cataract in one of his eyes.

Cancer

But speculation has been rife that President Mugabe in fact suffers from prostate cancer.
