Subject: [dandalin-siyasa] FOUR NEW UNIVERSITIES GRANTED APPROVAL IN NIGERIA

I have been wondering about the mind set of 'mutanen arewa'. How many of our people have the capacity to fund and establish a university? How many have transform that capability to reality? Could it be that these people are not aware of the problem or that they do not see beyond their nose, thus they can not foresee the likely consequence of not establishing private tertiary institutions.
We seem to be good in shouting about our problems. 'Merginalised' and 'educationally disadvantaged' are some of the terms used in describing the north. When it is obvious that the government can no longer or is no loner interested in providing qualitative education, other regions have resorted to setting up private institutions while we are just there watching them widen the gap more.
