Dr. Aluko: Really, in my book, it's this kind of unmasking disingenuous information masquerading in our midst that adds integrity to your inputs on this and other discussion group fora. It also makes hanging around some of those networks worth the while for some of us. It takes courage and sacrificial expending of quality time to do what you are doing, and it's a dirty job indeed. Yet, someone's got to do it; thanks for being that one, and please keep it up! When I read this caption myself, I intuitively questioned its wholesale integrity, not that I had anything against Buhari but I just wondered why Reuters, the juggernaut news agency, would be the one to make that observation and utter that statement, which, in my mind, was tantamount to a blanket endorsement. I hope our news reporting, electronic or print, would adhere to the simple rule of journalistic integrity. Anything less is a dupe on the vulnerability (and possible gullibility) of the truth-seeking, information hungry masses. Personally, and although I may not always say it, I appreciate your occasional Judge Judy style rant against apparent silliness and exasperating redundancies. I hope you remain undaunted in your will and unintimidated in your ways. Peace! Michael O. Afolayan - From the Land of Lincoln.

There is a little dishonesty going on here that sometimes irks me with Nigerian affairs.
The quote about "If votes will count, Buhari will win" is being attributed to Reuters. But here is the original report:
QUOTE
Even if the poll is credible, that could lead to protests.
"Buhari is very popular. He is on the side of the masses," said Nasiru Mobi, 28, a textile trader in the local market.
"If votes will count, Buhari will win." - Reuters
UNQUOTE
The quote is actually attributed to one "Nasiru Mobi, 28, a textile trader in the local market", and the "Reuters" word MERELY ended the Reuter's report.
Let us be more honest little things, even if we wish to play politics.
And there you have it.
