In James Baldwin: The Cross of Redemption, Uncollected Writings, a new
collection of little-known writings and letters reveals another side
to the man who described himself as the black witness to the white
condition.
There are essays, reviews, letters and ponderings on all sorts of
subjects, not just on being black in America but essays on religion,
on the Russian literary masters and Shakespeare, on educating
children, on music, theatre and the blues -- and even boxing.
