OK I'm biased in favour of the alleged victim. Not sure what the basis for complaining about the fate of women rape victims under Sharia law (absent male witnesses, risking prosecution for fornication if a charge is not sustained or upheld, i.e. themselves penalised for complaining) if the victim here is now to face charges which may result in her deportation. Is it not on the assumption that such people dare not, cannot afford to, complain that they become the favoured targets of such assaults?

I find the idea that some French 'Socialists' seriously consider that this man is returning to the status of a serious contender for the French presidency astonishing. But in reality, nothing ought to surprise me since the comments of Bernard Levy on l'affaire DSK.
