I may drown In this deluge. I may drown, Struggling to swim With dress drenched, With legs shackled. I may drown, Struggling to swim To the raft of refuge. If I drown, Let the wind Take me to the world Where no one is worthier. Where doves weave nests With leaves of olive. Where the sun shines With shyness of Moon. The Moon, The Stars Smile serene smiles. If I swim to the raft, I shall slaughter Rams on the sacred slab, I shall answer The summons of sleep. I shall sleep awhile And wake anew Clothed in swimming costume, Unshackled. I shall swim The deluge again To rescue the drowning. I shall swim The swim of a swimmer Unshackled. http://mundanemuses.blogspot.com/2011/07/raft-of-refuge.html
