Nell Irvin Painter talked about her book Creating Black Americans:
African-American History and Its Meanings, 1619 to the Present,
published by Oxford University Press. She talked about how blacks and
black history are portrayed through art. Professor Painter discussed
how she became interested in the subject and showed slides of some of
the artwork that appeared in her book. Following her presentation, she
responded to questions and comments submitted by members of the
audience.
