Jonathan, I have been told by people close to him, does not believe in the 100 Days hoopla but even he must ask himself today how he has lost so much ground within so short a time. By the time I was leaving Nigeria in July last year, the president had genuine nationwide appeal and support. By the time I returned in June this year, he was no longer so popular even though he had been popularly elected. Today, the situation is even worse and while many reasons can be adduced for that, I will highlight just two.
