USA Africa Dialogue Series - Re: [camnetwork] WikiLeaks Cameroon - US Ambadadresses and African Big Men

Hmmm, curiously, this is a far cry from what I thought when I was growing up.

Are US Ambassadorial posts in Africa some sort of  tweak and confess outposts? Can anyone imagine any African ambassador summoning a US president, even a small obscure cabinet member to sing about the inner workings of the US government or divulge privilege information? Is that not espionage embroidered? This can never happen to  Brazil or any country that is respected. Only in banana Africa.

From Nigeria to Cameroon, the way these big men bare their bleeding hearts and inner souls to US Ambassadresses - gaga-pooh-pooh - I am afraid we would read where an African president or Minister laid  prostrate before an American femme Ambassadress who nilly willy summoned him.  I almost gasped reading President Jonathan's heart pouring. I stopped at the point where Madame Ambassadress schooled the Nigerian president not to make public statements that portray Nigeria as a non-terrorist haven.  He obeyed. I can only freak out at the sight of Jonathan, as an oversized puppy, beseeching his bewitching matron to indulge his drooling state.

Here with Cameroon, I don't know whether the Minister is admitting that he is considered a  thief or a would-be thief.  Let me ask - is Janet Garvey a beautiful dame? Why else would Marafa loose his bearing as if he is craving a pledge of understanding from a flighty chick to stand by him if/when jailed? What kind of spectacle is this?

Coming to think of it, does the US post  its Ambassadresses without allowances for their significant others, boyfriends included? What would induce  these Ambassadresses to fancy and enjoy the confessions of the frightened  and/or confused African men in power? Look at even Ribadu, the former confidante to Obansanjo and economic and financial crime boss. The way he flexes his frame in blistering fashion, who knew that a woman could corner and turn him into....how shall I say this? The worse specie of man pikin kongossa - gossiper.

I have read Wikileaks. Most of the encounters between the Ambassadresses and sorrier African men chirping like canary are basically small talk. These Wikileaks captures  have revealed the whole shebang in the manner of US envoys in emasculating maneuvers.

But the day an African wife, fiancee or girlfriend would eavesdrop or walk in on the errant inanities that do not sound like legitimate duty, firestorm  would redefine diplomatic boundaries.

Meanwhile, I think there should be an all Africa constitutional amendment to require manhood for men as a qualification for office. What we have right now is worse than outright castration. Hahahaha

WikiLeaks Cameroon: CONFIDENTIAL and EXPLOSIVE; The Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization confesses

In another confidential and  explosive WikiLeaks cable on Cameroon, the  Minister of Territorial Administration (MINAT)  and powerful member of the ruling party polit Bureau , Marafa Hamidou Yaya in a discussion with  Elisabeth Janet Garvey, former US Ambassador to Cameroon, the former  bares his mind about some burning issues in the country.
His disdain for Elections Cameroon-ELECAM, his worries on the fight against corruption among other issues are revealed. It should be noted that the declarations of these ministers, like the case of Amadou Ali of the Justice Department may be considered their personal opinions or views. However, these views are really not different from state policies implemented by them or   their ministries and the government at large.
Marafa confesses that ELECAM cannot run good elections.
Marafa says ELECAM officials are corrupt and are only in for money.
Marafa wanted MINAT and ELECAM to jointly organise and control elections.
Marafa fears that any rigged or poorly organised elections will lead to civil unrest.
Marafa expresses worries with growing Islamism in the North and in Douala

Marafa holds asserts the belief by some people that the arrest of senior state embezzlers known as Operation Sparrow Hawk is part of political witch hunting, is very true
He admits that he may end of in prison himself. He has been constantly cited in the ongoing case on the futile purchase of the presidential jet (ALBATROSS) during which millions of dollars were embezzled.
He expresses the worry of some  of state embezzlers who even though they have refunded stolen wealth, they still fear of possible arrest in the future.
Marafa believes that decentralisation would save Cameroon between 30-40% of current spending. However, he adds that decentralisation may also fuel corruption citing the cases discovered in the Douala City Council
True confessions?
