| Africans from all over the world have to wake up and become aware of their power and intelligence and the enormous wealth of their continent.
By Prof. Afrikadzata Deku Some of today's continental/diaspora Africans are busy turning themselves into the photocopies of the White Man and Woman by showing (some of) the following characteristics: * Born in the White Man's hospital. * Fed with the White Man's milk. * Washed with the White Man's soap and sponge. * Given the White Man's water to drink. * Clothed in the White Man's dress or cloth. * Wears the White Man's shoes. * Taught the White Man's language. * Educated in the White Man's school. * Trained in the White Man's training institutions. * Wears the white man's necklace or bracelet. * Burns her hair to death to have the White Woman's hair style. * Tells the time by the White Man's watch. * Sits on the White Man's chair. * Works in the White Man's office. * Earns salary the White Man's way. * Moves and travels in the White Man's car or plane. * Watches the White Man's television. * Does charity works the White Man's way. * Listens to the White Man's radio. * Cannot do without the White Man's suit and ties even if they are not meant for his hot weather. * Cooks or eats the White Man's way. * Cannot do without the White Man's telephone. * Greets his friends the white man's way. * Marries the White Man's way. * Makes love to his wife the White Man's style. * Lives in the White Man's bungalow. * Takes the White Man's medicine when sick. * Goes to the White Man's church. * Buried the White Man's way. * Reads the White Man's bible. * Entertained the White Man's way. * Trains his kids the White Man's way. * Boasts of speaking English or French better than the White Man. * Bleaches her skin or face to resemble the White Woman. * Changes his nose to the White Man's nose. * Thinks like the White Man. * Sees the world with the White Man's eyes. * Solves his problems the White Man's way. * Does business the White Man's way. * Names himself and kids after the White Man. * Knows everything about the White Man but little or nothing about himself as a continental African. * Zealously worships the White Man's God he calls "universal." * Prays to the Creator through "white" intermediaries he calls "saviour." * Sings and draws in honour of the White Man's God and ancestors he calls "my God and Saviour. * Says he is free, at last, independent and sovereign within the White Man's world orders or boundaries he is conditioned to call his own. * Lives in the White Man created and controlled states which he is programmed to die for as his "beloved country and home." * Yearns desperately to govern himself the White Man's way. * Dies to practice democracy the White Man's style. * Believes he is not a leader until and unless he is received by his Western creators and supported in London, Paris and Washington. * Believes he is not a scholar until and unless published by the White Man's press. * Believes he is not a world success unless and until he is rewarded with the White Man's Nobel Prize. * Believes he can get nothing done without the White Man's money or bank. * Believes he cannot be independent on his own ancestral homeland until and unless the White Man grants him his independence. * Believes he cannot be free from the White Man's chains of mental enslavement, apartheid or neo-colonialism until and unless the White Man says he is free. * Considers it a great honour to be defined by the White Man as "underdeveloped" while he accepts the White Man as developed, forgetting that by his own definition and standard he is as developed as the White Man since nobody is hundred percent developed or underdeveloped. * Considers it a great honour for his world to be called and treated as Third World by the White Man while he calls the White Man's world First World forgetting that by his own standard his world is the world's First World. * Considers it civilization to be called "poor" while he accepts the White Man as richer trillion times than him forgetting that by his own definition and standard, he is as rich as the White Man who cannot do without Africa's enormous wealth which today's African is kept ignorant of. * Considers it progress, the White Man's sharing of his land and wealth among themselves which he calls "my independent African country." * Enjoys the dependency status conferred on him by the White Man which he is programmed to hail and celebrate as his "Independence or Emancipation Day." * Considers it development, the exchange of his continental African loaf with the White Man's crumbs/surpluses/left-overs he is conditioned to beg for as his salvation in the White Man's hell. * Believes, to be modernized and developed is to become westernized or zealously turn himself into the photocopy or caricature, dependency or periphery of the White Man. * Must produce for the White Man first before himself. * Must produce what he does not eat and eat what he does not produce. * Must sell his cash crops to the White Man for the price the White Man dictates but must buy the White Man's surplus goods at the price he cannot afford. * Must sell the best of his produce to the White Man and keep the leftovers for himself which he brags about as progress. * Will perpetually kiss the White Man's shoes to bring him to invest in his country which he considers the cornerstone of his country's progress, even if he knows for every cent the White Man invests in any part of continental Africa, he is guaranteed ten cents in return. * Will move heaven and earth to have his share of the White Man's leftovers /surpluses/crumbs he considers indispensable "aid" to the survival of his people even if he knows for every cent the White Man gives to "aid" Africa, he is guaranteed ten in return. * Will swear heaven and earth that his country or Africa cannot do without increased exports to the white man's markets, even if he knows selling to and buying from the White Man is a guarantied profit for the White Man and a guaranteed loss to Africa. * Thinks he can walk with the White Man's feet rather than his own continental African feet he is kept ignorant of. * Thinks he can fly with the White Man's wings instead of his own continental African wings he is totally unaware of. * Loves to be visited or received by his White Master he loves and hates at the same time. * Law to him is not law until and unless it is manufactured in the White Man's style parliament, congress or assembly. * Election is not election until and unless it is done the White Man's way under the supervision of the White Man's eyes. * Election results are not valid results until and unless they are certified "clean" by the White Man's team of observers. * Political parties are not parties until and unless their names are in the White Man's language and operated in the White Man's style. * A lawyer is no lawyer unless and until he appears in the White Man's tie, suit and gown no matter the heat. * A judge is no judge unless and until he appears in his White Man's wig, suit and tie no matter his sweating. * A student is not a student until and unless he studies in the White Man's world or in the White Man's style. * The writer is no writer until and unless he is finally published by the White Man's press. * The artist is no artist until and unless he exhibits his works in the White Man's galleries in Paris, London or Washington. * A bank official is no banker until and unless he appears smart in his White Man's tie and suit no matter the heat. * His office is no office until and unless it is equipped with the White Man's air no matter the fresh air around him. * His chauffeur-driven car is no car until and unless it is well equipped with the White Man's air no matter the breeze around him. * Measures his success and worth in terms of how many of the White Man's cars, bungalows or coloured televisions he can boast of, no matter the sea of human misery around him. * The only science and technology he knows is the crumbs the White Man is willing to trickle down to him from his tables he is programmed to worship as "transfer of technology." * When his White Man defines himself not by his skin colour but by the land of his ancestors and by the language he speaks, he calls it progress. * But when he defines himself by the land of his ancestors and the language he speaks, it is called tribalism, so he alone. * Must define himself by the White Man's identity or the colour of his skin he is not. * Calls his brothers and sisters who live outside his White Man's defined territory aliens and threats them so because the white man says so. * To talk to his neighbour he still must pass through the White Man in Paris or London and he calls it development. * He considers it normal to have army that is powerful only at killing their own but totally powerless when it comes to defending Africa against the White Man's attack, or invasion or domination or exploitation or control of his motherland. * Safely talks of and treats only the symptoms rather than the causes of his growing crisis for fear of losing her skin. * Suffocates or freezes himself to death in the White Man's heavily fortified and well-guarded prison house he calls mansion, palace, castle or bungalow with its ten feet tall gate and walls to scare off fellow Africans he calls "unwanted intruders of his privacy." * He says all is well. * His White Man's style state without nation is developing very fast and will soon catch up with the West within the borders of his neo-colonialism and yes-masterism. But soon, whether he likes it or not, the inevitable continental African Sun of Truth shall rise up to set him and others free from his mountain of lies and self-ignorance which makes him prefer others to himself.
