From the Nigeria Senate came yesterday two gloomy news. First is the revelation that Nigeria's present external and local debts at N6.02 trillion. Secondly, that the financial accounts of 27 states are in the red as some of them have been declared either "distressed" or "gloomy." Giving a breakdown of the debt profile, Uzamere said the external debt stands at $5.398 billion which translates to 2.76 per cent of the Gross
