Development research groups are finding it harder to depend solely on international funding for support. To survive, they must adapt to changing donor trends and explore different funding options.
IDRC's Donor Partnership Division partnered with the Philippines-based Venture for Fundraising to develop a second edition of Resource Mobilization: A Practical Guide for Research and Community-Based Organizations.
This guide provides a collection of information and activities that can help development research non-profits gain financial sustainability by:
• Planning resource mobilization in a strategic, mission-driven rather than donor-driven manner
• Building communications skills
• Designing, implementing and monitoring resource mobilization activities
• Learning from others' experiences.
