C-sections can save lives in emergency situations and have been a boost to infant mortality rates. In general, childbirth is not an emergency situation. How many women are taking risks of child birth, and how well informed are women in African communities about the options available to them in order to make right choices. Many women have to go through the c-section route for health reasons and for the safety of themselves and their baby.
