The presentation gives background information about the energy industry including generation, transmission, distribution and energy trade. It summarises the types of investment in the energy sector and the requirements that need to be met in order to create conducive environment for the mobilization of resources for project' implementation. The presentation ends with proposing a strategy for attending to the energy shortage problem in Africa and a mode of cooperation between NEPAD and OECD.
