Subject: USA Africa Dialogue Series - 3 peaceful protesters shot dead in Lagos
Samuel:
Many of those supporting and promoting the protests in Nigeria are
happily ensconced in their peaceful environments abroad.
They can't wait for the death toll to rise in Nigeria;
they need martyrs
for their cause and grouse with the GEJ government but
will never volunteer themselves or any member of their families
for martyrdom.
A few perverts amongst those promoting
the violent protests by remote control would probably rate
the success or failure of their protests by the number
of people killed or maimed in Nigeria. The higher the number of dead
and maimed Nigerians (usually the poor), the more they
conclude that their protests have suceeded.
They have blood on their hands!
Dr Val Ojo cries "Occupy Nigeria" from Tall Timbers, MD,
yet the only rally he would ever attend would probably be
the one in his kitchen--unless he is paid to travel to
Washington, DC and NYC not to mention Nigeria.
The ultimate beneficiaries of violent protests with the attendant unnecessary
loss of lives and property destruction are the corrupt members
of oil subsidy cartels--some of whom are sponsoring the protests
in Nigeria.
Let us hope and pray that the remainder of the protests will
be peaceful.
GEJ cannot be held responsible for any deaths resulting from
a labor protest that has been ruled illegal by the Industrial
Court any more than we could hold him responsible for the deaths
and injuries resulting from bombing attacks from the Boko Haram,
MEND, Egbesu or any other terrorist groups in Nigeria.
Bye,
Ola

The president Goodluck Jonathan order to the security services to crackdown on the widespread civil disobedience has led to the extra-judicial killing of 3 Peaceful protesters st the Pen Cinema area of Agege Lagos. The 3 protesters were shot dead by CSP Segun Fabunmi. Helicopters gunships was seen hovering over the Gani Fawehinmi Park Ojota where over 150,000 gathered st the venue of the Save Nigeria Rally. All the protest rallies organised by the NLC and TUC terminated at the Gani Fawehinmi Park. Currently, more than 5 people have lost their lives to the brutalities of the GEJ security forces. But the news of the death infuriated the protesters who immediately demanded that Jonathan must go. Pictures from Gani Fawehinmi Park Ojota.

This is a senseless demonstration and when you looses a love one, you will understand what some of us are talking about. Nigeria/Nigerians do not have good culture of protests that can be sustained for several months until it achieves the set goal and objectives. omo jaiye jaiye ni wa(meaning that we love high life without paying a little price). There is nothing to be happy about this killings, i have once been involved in many protests in the 90"s and at the end of the day you look at yourself and find out that nothing has changed.
