New Film Review Editor for the African Studies Review

The African Studies Association and the Editors of the African Studies Review are pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Kenneth Harrow, Michigan State University, as the Film Review Editor of the African Studies Review.  We are very grateful to Ken for assuming this important role.

Consider submitting your next article to the African Studies Review

The editors of the African Studies Review invite the submission of manuscripts in the social sciences and humanities from scholars around the globe. The ASR is published three times per year, and articles are also available on-line via Project Muse and JSTOR. The African Studies Review is part of the Social Science Citation Index, with an Impact Factor of .481.

We publish manuscripts that:

  • Have a broad interdisciplinary appeal
  • Represent significant, original contributions to Africanist scholarship
  • Follow disciplinary standards of citing both pertinent literature and appropriate comparative cases
  • Build upon relevant theoretical and methodological frameworks.
