USA Africa Dialogue Series - Re: Occupy Nigeria in Toronto

I had a prior medical appointment, but will try to reschedule. I have already posted it on USAAfrica Dialogue, which gets very wide circulation, not just in the US. Not being a social media guy myself, I'll leave others to other fora  of communication.

JOIN OTHER NIGERIANS FOR A PEACFUL REALLY AGAINST THE REMOVAL OF FUEL SUBSIDY AND FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION AND WASTFUL GOVERNMENT SPENDING IN NIGERIA

Fellow Nigerians,

By now, you are all fully aware of the situation that is currently happening in Nigeria. Last week the Nigerian Canadian Association, (NCA) Toronto chapter issued a press release to appealed to all Nigerians at home and abroad to exercises caution and restrain in the face of the provoked fuel subsidy removal and the recent prevalent killings in some parts of Nigeria. Nigerians at home and across the globe have come out strong in their respective localities to denounced the impoverishment and the added financial constrains the fuel subsidy removal will undoubtedly unleash on Nigerians.

The (NCA) Toronto chapter congratulate all Nigerians for their determination in standing firm in their demands from the federal government to reverse the fuel subsidy removal. We  applauded the spirit of unison with which all Nigerians both home and abroad stand resolute, even in the face of the recent police brutality on armless peaceful protesters in Nigeria.

Two days ago, The (NCA) recently became aware that this spirit of unison protest against the federal government fuel subsidy removal has reached Toronto. This solidarity really will take place at Dundas Square this Saturday. Please see details of the really below

The Nigerian Canadian Association (NCA) is appealing to all Nigerians in GTA and its environs to come out on Saturday to support the organizers in solidifying supports for Nigerians back home.

We urge the organisers to ensure that the rally is peaceful and to adhere to the rules and laws of the City. We appeal to all attendees to demonstrate the spirit of peacefulness, civil and maintain order by desisting from hooliganism and confrontation with the law.
