AFRICANS AND SUPER BOWL XLVI SECRETS

 

 

Super Bowl XLVI will be played on Sunday, February 5, 2012.  Most Africans are not enamored with the American type of "football", as a lot of them tell you that they don't understand the game, especially why instead of using your foot and dribble the ball is thrown, and big men carry the ball to run.  But at least here in the US, more Africans are beginning to understand and enjoy the game.  And Africans are beginning to participate as players in the game, the most famous being "The Nigerian Nightmare" Christiran Emeka Okoye, the running back for the Kansas Chiefs who had the league's most rushing yards in 1989, appeared in two Pro Bowls and three playoff appearances.  Okoye, who was born in Enugu, Enugu State of Nigeria, did not know what American football until he arrived in the United States.

However, Super Bowl XLVI is going to be different.  There are four Africans playing in tomorrow's game.  Okay, there are not purely Africans, as all of them were born outside Africans, but nevertheless they were born to African parents.  Three of them are Nigerians and one is Ugandan.  Three of them are playing for the Giants and one is playing for New England Patriots.
