Re: USA Africa Dialogue Series - Di State Of Di Nation 6 (Nigerian Pidgin English Poetry Series)

An interesting poem that reflects on the relationship between violent agitation in Nigeria and the attention of the Nigerian government.

Does one need to agitate violently like Boko Haram terrorists to get attention?

What must the average Nigerian do for the government at the centre to commit itself to quality of food, housing and health  care that will bring the country into the 21st century?

Question- is this poet sufficiently sensitive to  the development initiatives  across the country? Can the country as a whole really be summed up in terms of this wholly negative image of its government?

Is the poet a victim of the fact that it is easier to criticize troubled countries like Nigeria than to take the effort to examine their development in an informed  manner?

Perhaps the poet is aware of such developments but remains  unsatisfied.  Expecting more than is being delivered.
