"The writer Obi Iwuanyanwu, (Obiwu) has a new slim volume of poetry out, Tigress at Full Moon. This feisty and engaging collection of verse reminds me that things are changing quite nicely when it comes to Nigerian poetry. In this collection, he leans heavily on the sturdy lyrical limbs of the master poets before him, but branches out effortlessly into new realms of thought. Obiwu is part of a determined band of Nigerian poets who use the Internet and social media to showcase to the world some bold new poetry: I can think of Afam Akeh, Lola Shoneyin, Jumoke Verissimo, Uche Peter Umez, Kola Tubosun, Tade Ipadeola, Richard Ali, Obododimma Oha, Chuma Nwokolo, etc."
