Black Space is an annual reasoning that takes place in Woodside, St. Mary Jamaica and is spearhead by Erna Brodber, a Jamaican Ethnographer and novelist/ anthropologist. Erna has invited the internatitonal community to her village in St. Mary for years, and the village welcomes them, and accommodates them. A Reasoning goes on, in the tradition of Rastafari, with outcome and overstanding. Following the event is an Emancipation celebration that takes place in the village of Woodside as well, on the 31st of July and the 1st of August. You may also want to stay for Jamaican independence celebrations this year.

Day 2. Africans will ask questions of the diaspora and will expose us to what they consider to be the best of their arts, craft, cuisine. As usual there is no charge. Room and board within walking distance of the meeting place is available at a reasonable rate. African Jamaican style lunch will be on sale.
