Subject: [talkhard] The Biafran war 1967 to 1970'

We of Akwa Ibom State are dismayed at the one sided story of Biafra by our Ibgo brothers . It will be note worthy to observe that part of the failure of the rebel movement of the late sixties was the exclusion of other subgroup of the south south namely the Ibibios which is the next largest nation of the COR subgroup (Calabar,OGoja and Rivers, ).Our Ibo Brethrens made a divastiating political blunders of excluding the other subgroup in its calculus of mapping out, ruling and creating the Biafra Nation.
The Ibibio leaders learn a potent lesson in Enugu during the running of the eastern region not to trust an Ibo man in anything . A lesson that made it easy to convince our polity to support the Nigerian army against the Biafran sun.
Three year war time was the most painful period in Nigerian history for our Ibibio tribe. Tens of thousands of children lost their lives including my three year old brother,Imeh Sunday Etukeren . The scars of war that I bear still remains with me till my last day on earth.
Biafra did not loose the war because Nigeria was so powerful . They lost the war because of Ibos domination of other aforementioned groups. An attitude of exclusion there is an Ibibio proverb that say (iwot ita ikpong unam eseonyong) a greedy hunter alway loose the prey .Be assured that the next battle ground will not be in Ibibio land The Yurobas and the Hausas must test their biter pill.
Have we learned any lesson from of past? Yes we the Ibibios have learned that we can never trust any majority tribes of Nigeria . Yes we learned that Owolowo never cared for the Ibibios except her hydrocarbon , yes we learned that the hausa never cared of the Ibibios except her oil and kola nuts as far as they can have it free of charge. Yes we learned that cocoa house was built in Ibadan where majority of cocoa is produced . Yes we learn that oil is produced off and on shores of Akwa Ibom and the head office of Exxon mobil is housed in Owolowo land. Yes we learned that The military leaders of Nigeria did not offer anything to Ibibios the majority share holder of Ibibio nation. Yes we learn that Owolowo had his hand on every investment in Yoruba land and offered free education to his kindred . Yes every time you drink coke in Nigeria Owolowo dynasty has a percentage of you Naira. By the way didnt Obasanjo give up our Bakassi to the Camerouns? A good lesson not to trust the majority politics.
Is there any lesson learned with our Past Association with our Ibo cousins? Yes never trust them. As Nigeria is heading toward its demise and splitting any union with our Ibo cousins or the majority tribes of Nigeria will be tragic. Our political leaders of Akwa Ibom extract must go back only fifty years to learn how to paddle the Nigerian political waters . As we fight for our survival as a people lets choose our allies very carefully .we cannot afford the same mistake twice
.
