(Poem By: Chidi Anthony Opara)
They concurred,
The goddesses
Of land and water
To flood our land
With the floods of retribution.
Our search
For succour is hindered
By the barriers of night.
O' chirruping children of night,
O' new night neighbours,
Direct us with chirps
To the lands
Where no deluge devastates.
The first light of dawn
Arrives,
The deluge draws near,
We set out
To search for succour again.
Behold
On the other lands
Where no deluge devastates,
We behold arks,
Replicas
Of the ark of Noah.
