I am more interested in the institution the "wise men" may have
represented and in one of the gifts they were said to have given to
baby Jesus, the frankincense, said to have symbolized priesthood. I am
interested in which priesthood the gift symbolized.
In a related development, I am also interested in the personality of
Joseph of Armentieres, a man who like the Masons prepared his own
tomb, but offered to have Jesus buried in that tomb. A man, who was
influential enough to demand and obtained the body of the executed
Jesus for washing and burial from the authorities, without attracting
the wrath of the very influential high priest Caiaphas, whom even the
authorities were afraid of and who would have preferred that the body
of Jesus was thrown away or at most given a shabby burial. A man not
known to be a relative or follower of Jesus and yet was willing to
bury Jesus in an expensive tomb he prepared for himself.
